PSG beat Aston Villa 2–1 to retain Super Cup

Paris Saint-Germain beat Aston Villa 2–1 at Salzburg’s Red Bull Arena to retain their Super Cup title.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring for PSG in the 20th minute after the French side dominated the early stages.

Villa equalised just before half-time through 17-year-old Brian Madjo, who scored with a fine left-footed volley. The goal made him the youngest scorer in Super Cup history.

PSG responded in the second half, with Désiré Doué restoring their lead in the 61st minute.

Villa pushed for another equaliser but PSG held on to secure the win and lift the Super Cup for the second straight year.

The victory also gave Luis Enrique’s side their 13th major trophy since the Spaniard took charge.
