PDP Governors and Party Leaders Meet to Deepen Democracy and Unity in Nigeria

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, along with several other Governors and party leaders, recently attended a meeting with the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar. The meeting aimed to discuss strategies for deepening democracy, peace, and unity in Nigeria.

The gathering, which took place on May 29, 2023, included Governors such as Sheriff Oborevwori from Delta State, Dauda Lawal from Zamfara, Bala Mohammed from Bauchi, Ahmadu Fintiri from Adamawa, Ademola Adeleke from Osun, and Godwin Obaseki from Edo. Additionally, prominent stakeholders of the party, including the PDP Vice Presidential Candidate, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, former Chairman of the Party, Iyorchia Ayu, former Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ehedioha, and former Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu, were also present.

During the meeting, the attendees focused on developing strategies to strengthen unity within the party following the last election. Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammad, briefed journalists about the meeting’s purpose, stating that it aimed to bring together various party organs to discuss the way forward after the election. He emphasized the importance of unity and ensuring that the party remains strong. The Governors expressed their support for the PDP’s Presidential candidate and reassured him that all party organs stood with him.

Governor Bala Mohammad also highlighted the commitment of the PDP to uphold democratic ideals and address issues that would improve the living conditions of Nigerians.
