A former Nigerian minister, Rauf Aregbesola, says President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda is a scam. He asked the president to resign because of rising insecurity and economic suffering in the country.
Aregbesola spoke at a political meeting in Abuja. He said the government has been in power for three years but has not kept its promises.

He pointed out that the government promised to fix electricity supply. But he said power is now worse. Some areas get only two hours of electricity per day. Others have been in darkness for weeks or months.
Aregbesola also criticized the economy. He said when this government took over in 2023, one dollar was about 700 naira in the open market. Now it is about 1,400 naira. He said fuel prices have also gone up from around 200 naira per liter to about 1,400 naira.
He said many Nigerians cannot afford to travel to work anymore because transport costs are too high.
Aregbesola also said insecurity has become worse under this government. He blamed the administration for not protecting lives.
He added that the number of children not in school has risen from 18.3 million to nearly 20 million. More Nigerians are now living in extreme poverty.
Aregbesola asked Nigerians to support his new party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He said the ruling party, APC, has failed the country.
He said the ADC is on a rescue mission to save Nigeria from bad leadership. He called on all citizens to take action and not stay on the sidelines.
