
Church Honours NUJ FCT Chair Grace Ike with Humanitarian Award
The Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Grace Ike, has received a 2026 Humanitarian and Service Award from the Laity Council of All Saints Catholic Church.
The award was presented in recognition of her contributions to journalism and humanitarian service.

Speaking after receiving the honour, Grace Ike thanked God and dedicated the award to members of the NUJ FCT Council. She also expressed appreciation to the organisers for recognising her efforts despite her absence at the event.
According to her, the award is a motivation to do more for society and the journalism profession.
“This is not just an award but a call to greater service. With God’s help, I will continue to serve humanity and promote responsible journalism with dedication and humility,” she said.
The award adds to a growing list of recognitions Ike has received for her achievements in journalism and community service. The award was received on her behalf by the council’s auditor, Comrade Rosemary Ukoko-Tega.
