Adeleke wins Osun governorship election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke the winner of the 2026 governorship election.

The Returning Officer, Prof Joshua Ogunwole, said Adeleke, who contested on the Accord Party platform, won with 511,067 votes.

His closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), scored 444,815 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate came third with 17,180 votes.

Adeleke won by 66,252 votes.

A total of 2,339,544 voters were registered for the election, while 1,010,684 were accredited.

Of the votes cast, 985,079 were valid, while 20,721 were rejected, bringing the total number of votes cast to 1,005,800.

The result was announced after the collation of results from all 30 local government areas in the state.

The victory gives Adeleke another term as governor after a closely contested election against the APC candidate.
