Meghan faces challenge as she prepares to return to UK
Meghan, wife of Prince Harry, could face a difficult return to life in the UK, where she remains unpopular and her relationship with the royal family is still strained.
The 45-year-old former actress has spoken openly about the difficulties she faced after marrying Harry in 2018. Both she and Harry have also criticised the British media for its treatment of her.

Historian Ed Owens said Meghan may face more questions than Harry about how she will adjust to life in Britain after spending years in California.
The couple reportedly decided to return to the UK partly because Meghan has been offered an acting role in a British production. A spokesperson for the couple did not deny the report.
Experts believe Meghan is likely to focus mainly on family life, especially their children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five. The children have reportedly been enrolled in a British school, while the couple have also chosen a new home.
Meghan’s acting career in the US has slowed in recent years. Her Netflix lifestyle and cooking show, With Love, Meghan, has ended, although she is expected to appear briefly in an upcoming film.
She also recently made a guest appearance on MasterChef Australia.
Talent manager Jonathan Shalit said producers would still be interested in meeting Meghan if she decided to return to acting.
However, she remains unpopular in Britain. A YouGov poll released in July found that 65 per cent of Britons had an unfavourable view of her.
Meghan and Harry have repeatedly criticised the British press since stepping down from royal duties in 2020. Their relationship with the royal family has also remained tense, particularly following Harry’s 2023 memoir, Spare.
Harry accused his brother, Prince William, and his wife, Catherine, of being unwelcoming towards Meghan.
Meghan also told Oprah Winfrey that a member of the royal family had raised concerns about the skin colour of her unborn child.
However, experts believe the couple’s return is mainly about creating a more stable life for their children rather than reopening old conflicts with the royal family.
