MAULID CELEBRATION MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN, NIGERIA UNION OF JOURNALISTS (NUJ), FCT COUNCIL

On behalf of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, I warmly felicitate with all Muslim faithful in the Federal Capital Territory and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Maulid celebration, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Maulid is a significant occasion that reminds us of the exemplary life, teachings and virtues of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly his commitment to peace, compassion, justice, humility, honesty and love for humanity.

As journalists and responsible citizens, we are reminded of the importance of these virtues in the discharge of our professional responsibilities. At a time when our nation needs greater unity, tolerance and mutual understanding, the teachings of the Prophet provide enduring lessons on peaceful coexistence and respect for one another.

I therefore urge Muslim faithful to use the occasion to pray for peace, stability and prosperity in Nigeria, while continuing to promote dialogue, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among the diverse peoples of our great nation.

The NUJ FCT Council remains committed to promoting responsible journalism, professional excellence, national unity and the protection of the values that strengthen our democracy and society.

May Almighty Allah accept our prayers, bless our nation with peace and prosperity, and grant us the wisdom and courage to uphold truth, justice and humanity in all our endeavours.
