Manchester United have signed Belgium midfielder Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for a reported fee of £35 million.

Tielemans is United’s third signing of the summer transfer window. The club had earlier signed midfielder Andrey Santos from Chelsea and goalkeeper Karl Darlow from Leeds United.
Speaking after completing the move, Tielemans said he was proud to join Manchester United.
“It is a dream to sign for such a big club. I have worked hard throughout my career, and I want to help the team win major trophies,” he said.
Manchester United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, described Tielemans as one of the Premier League’s best midfielders and said he has the quality and attitude needed to succeed at the club.
Tielemans joined Aston Villa in 2023 after leaving Leicester City, where he won the FA Cup. Last season, he helped Villa qualify for the Champions League and win the Europa League.
He missed Belgium’s World Cup quarter-final defeat to Spain because of injury.
United strengthened their midfield after Casemiro left the club and Manuel Ugarte suffered a knee injury during the World Cup.
The club finished third in the Premier League last season under manager Michael Carrick, earning a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
