In a significant development, the federal government has unveiled a N5 billion palliative for each state across the federation, inclusive of the federal capital territory (FCT), aimed at mitigating the consequences arising from the removal of the petrol subsidy.

Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno state, disclosed this pivotal information during an address to State House correspondents in Abuja on Thursday.

His announcement marked the conclusion of a momentous national economic council (NEC) session, chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The NEC, comprising governors from all 36 states, the Central Bank of Nigeria (BN) governor, and various other government appointees, convened to address pressing concerns.
