Beautiful Beginning Academy (BBA) Cambridge International School, Apo, Abuja held its 2026 Graduation Ceremony in an occasion that highlighted academic excellence and reaffirmed support for the next generation of leaders.
The event tagged “Growing Together in Knowledge and in Character”, marked the academic milestone amid colour, celebration and inspiration, and brought together students, parents, teachers, and stakeholders from within and outside the FCT at Nile University, Abuja.
In a goodwill speech, the Guest Speaker, Mrs. Beatrice Jedy-Agba, Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice, applauded the graduating class and wished them well in their future endeavours.
Delivering the keynote address, The Chairman NUJ FCT, Comrade Grace Ike, who also served as Mother of the Day, described the ceremony as “not the end of an academic journey but the beginning of a life of purpose, service and limitless possibilities.” She challenged the graduating pupils to see themselves as future problem-solvers and to embrace excellence, resilience and strong moral character. She reminded them that character, more than academic brilliance, would ultimately define their legacy, and urged them to remain curious, read consistently, respect others, choose their friends wisely and hold firmly to self-belief. She also paid tribute to parents for their sacrifices and applauded the teachers and management for nurturing disciplined, values-driven young minds.
Representing the Director General of Voice of Nigeria, the Deputy Director, Digital Media, Dr. Qasim Akinreti, also delivered a motivational address. He charged the graduands to “aspire to greatness” and not lose hope, stressing that with belief, hard work and prayer, they can “turn things around.” He further challenged the traditional notion that “the reward of a teacher is in heaven,” stating that teachers’ rewards are visible and present today in the success of their students. He also acknowledged the significant investment parents have made in their children’s education, describing prayer, ambition and hard work as the key pillars of success.
The ceremony also featured remarks from the Academy’s Chairman, Sir Chinasaokwu Innocent Okolie, who charged the graduating students to be worthy ambassadors of the institution and a valedictory speech by Ivana Arabome the Valedictorian of the class of 2026.
While giving her remarks, the Managing Director of the school, Dr. Rosemary Nasa-Okolie, expressed joy over how the Class of 2026 has made her proud. She noted that Beautiful Beginning Academy(BBA) continues to set the pace for academic excellence in the FCT, in Nigeria and internationally. Dr. Nasa-Okolie also announced with great joy that the school has received approval to commence hosting TEDx events, saying the platform would provide students and young people with opportunities to share ideas, showcase innovation, and engage with global thought leaders. She commended parents for their support and urged the graduating class of 2026 to uphold the values of the school and be good ambassadors wherever they go.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the announcement of a scholarship for Adaeze Tochukwu Okeke, a student with special needs, to study at Nile University of Nigeria, courtesy of the Managing Director, AFRIQUE Investments and Infrastructure Partners, Sir Okechi Uchechukwu. The gesture recognised Adaeze’s inspiring journey and determination and drew sustained applause from guests, parents, teachers, and graduands, with many visibly moved by her story. It underscored the Academy’s growing profile as an institution committed to inclusive education, compassion and corporate philanthropy.
The school also used the occasion to celebrate its recent academic success, disclosing that it emerged as the overall winner of the NUJ FCT Press Week 2026 Quiz Competition held on 21st May 2026. Management credited the pupils’ preparation and discipline for the outcome, while acknowledging the welfare support and morale-boosting gestures extended by partners during the competition.
The well-attended ceremony featured colourful cultural displays, choreography, a moot court session, spoken word poetry, and award presentations to outstanding students, teachers and stakeholders.
