US urge Americans to consider leaving Middle East amid rising tensions
US embassies across the Middle East have advised American citizens to consider leaving the region or be ready to leave if the security situation worsens.
The alert was issued on Saturday by US embassies in Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The warning came a day after US President Donald Trump said the United States could respond “very hard” to Iran.
The embassies urged Americans to remain alert, monitor local developments and prepare for possible flight cancellations, airspace closures and other travel disruptions.
US citizens in Jordan were advised to avoid military bases, while those in Israel were urged to identify the nearest bomb shelter.
The US Embassy in Beirut also said it remains under an ordered departure status, with family members and non-essential government staff still relocated outside Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Iran accused the United States of increasing tensions in the region. Iranian military official Ali Abdollahi warned that any country supporting the US militarily could be drawn into the conflict.
An adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader also warned against attacks on Iran’s infrastructure.
Elsewhere, Egypt is investigating a drone strike that caused a fire on a US-owned gas vessel at one of its ports earlier this week.
A British maritime agency also reported that an unidentified projectile struck a tanker off the coast of Oman, as concerns grow over security in the Strait of Hormuz.
Shipping data firm Kpler said traffic through the strategic waterway has dropped sharply as ship operators monitor the security situation.
In Yemen, the Iran-backed Houthi movement denied reports that it plans to charge ships for passing through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Meanwhile, Israel said its forces killed three Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon on Saturday, while one Israeli soldier was injured during clashes with the group.
