CONMEBOL seeks more details on FIFA’s private investment plan
South American football body CONMEBOL has asked FIFA for more information about its proposed private investment plan, saying football must remain the top priority.
In a statement on Friday, CONMEBOL said it had requested further clarification on the scope, structure, governance and possible impact of FIFA’s proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) project.

The organisation said it understands the need for financial and commercial decisions to help grow the game.
However, it stressed that such decisions should support football rather than take priority over it.
“Football always comes first,” CONMEBOL said.
The statement comes a day after UEFA threatened to boycott the FIFA World Cup if the proposal goes ahead.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) have also expressed concerns about the plan.
CONMEBOL, which represents the 10 football associations in South America, had not previously commented publicly on the proposal.
Its president, Alejandro Domínguez, is widely seen as a close ally of FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
