Tinubu Appoints Bianca Ojukwu as Foreign Affairs Minister

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Nigeria’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The appointment was announced in a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga on Wednesday.

Bianca replaces Yusuf Tuggar, who resigned to prepare for the 2027 elections.

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu had earlier served as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

The President also nominated Sola Enikanolaiye as the new Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, pending approval by the Senate.

Before this nomination, Enikanolaiye was the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations. He is an experienced diplomat who has worked in several countries, including Ethiopia, Serbia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and India.

According to Onanuga, the appointments are part of efforts by the government to improve Nigeria’s foreign policy, strengthen international relationships, and promote the country’s interests globally.

The President congratulated the new appointees and urged them to work hard to support Nigeria’s economy, ensure regional peace, and protect Nigerians both at home and abroad.
