The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has suspended its Abuja-Kaduna train operations following an attack by gunmen on Monday night.
The NRC announced its decision in a terse statement on Twitter on Tuesday morning.

“Dear passengers, due to unforeseen circumstances, Train operation along the Abuja-Kaduna route has been temporarily suspended. Further communication would be given in due course,” said the statement.
This came after bandits attack Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday evening, where many passengers injured while others were abducted.
The bandits reportedly attacked the train around Dutse axis in Kaduna, just a few kilometres to the Rigasa Train Station in Igabi Local Government Area of the state.
Meanwhile, troops have been mobilised to the scene of the attack to rescue the remaining passengers.
