Airport Staff Returns $1,700, Passports to Passenger in Lagos

A staff member at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Frank Omorojie, has been praised for returning a lost purse containing money and important documents to its owner.

The incident happened on Wednesday at the check-in area of RwandAir.

Omorojie found the purse, which had $1,700, a Nigerian passport, a British passport, and a credit card.

Instead of keeping it, he quickly handed it over to airport security officials for proper handling.

Following standard procedures, the items were recorded and taken to the customer service unit. An announcement was then made to help find the owner.

Shortly after, a Nigerian passenger who was travelling to Kigali, Rwanda, came forward and was reunited with her belongings. She had earlier feared they were lost.

Airport authorities praised Omorojie for his honesty and professionalism. They said his action shows good character and helps build trust in airport staff.

Speaking on the incident, Omorojie said he simply did the right thing.

His action has been widely commended by both his colleagues and airport officials.
