Mohamed Salah arrives in Turkey to complete Trabzonspor move
Former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday to complete his move to Turkish club Trabzonspor after leaving the Premier League side at the end of his contract.
Trabzonspor welcomed the 34-year-old with a social media post that read, “Salah mode: ON,” alongside photos of the Egyptian star on a private jet wearing the club’s home shirt.

The Turkish club announced on Tuesday that it had started negotiations with Salah after his departure from Liverpool, where he spent nine successful seasons.
Salah landed in Istanbul on Wednesday morning and was greeted by hundreds of excited fans at the airport.
“I’m here straight after my night shift, and for Mohamed Salah, I’m ready to stay awake all night,” supporter Abdul Kerim Yervan told AFP.
Salah is expected to undergo a medical before travelling to Trabzon later in the day.
According to Turkish media, he will sign a two-year contract with the option of a third season and earn about €17 million ($19.6 million) per year.
Salah scored 257 goals in 442 appearances for Liverpool, making him the club’s third-highest scorer of all time.
He also scored 193 Premier League goals, including 191 for Liverpool, placing him fourth on the competition’s all-time scoring list behind Alan Shearer, Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney.
Last season, Salah struggled for form and scored only seven league goals.
He last played at the World Cup, helping Egypt reach the last 16 for the first time since 1934 before they lost to eventual runners-up Argentina.
Salah had also been linked with Turkish club Besiktas before choosing Trabzonspor.
Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season and qualified for the Europa League play-off round.
The Egyptian captain has scored 66 goals in 119 international matches and is regarded as one of Africa’s greatest footballers.
