ECOWAS Denies Trump’s Claim About Killing of Christians in Nigeria
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has rejected former U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that Christian killings are taking place in Nigeria.
In a statement released on Tuesday, ECOWAS said Trump’s comments were false and dangerous, warning that such statements could cause tension and religious conflict in the region.

ECOWAS explained that extremist attacks in West Africa do not target people based on religion or ethnicity — both Muslims and Christians have suffered alike.
The group called on the international community to help African countries fight terrorism instead of spreading divisive statements that could create more conflict.
