PDP Warns Members Supporting Tinubu for 2027

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said it will take action against members who are supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The party’s leaders, under the National Working Committee (NWC), said they have reviewed some members’ actions that go against the party’s rules.

They are especially concerned about those publicly showing support for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, said some well-known members have been making public comments and pledging support for the APC, which goes against the PDP’s constitution.

He said this behavior is harmful to the party’s unity and future.

According to Section 10 (6) of the PDP Constitution, no member is allowed to work with other political parties or groups in a way that weakens the PDP or its elected governments.

Ologunagba warned that such actions are dividing the party and causing members to leave, which could reduce the party’s chances in future elections if not stopped quickly.

To address this, the NWC said it will give serious warnings to those involved and may punish them according to Section 59 (1) of the party’s constitution if they do not stop.

The PDP leadership also called on all members to stay loyal, focused, and prepare for the upcoming PDP National Convention, which will take place on November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
