From a year of forced pause as a teenager to becoming a leading voice in Africa’s fashion-tech and financial education space, Andrew Ogbeh represents reinvention driven by necessity. What began as learning tailoring out of circumstance has grown into SewPro, a digital platform transforming fashion businesses through technology, automation, and AI, while his work in financial literacy, blockchain education, and wealth mindset training has empowered thousands of young Nigerians.
In this conversation, the Founder and CEO of SewPro reflects on hardship as a catalyst, the convergence of fashion and fintech, shifting men’s fashion culture in Nigeria, and why systems and financial intelligence not talent alone shape sustainable success, alongside a bold mission to equip one million Africans with wealth-creation knowledge over the next decade.

You started sewing as far back as 2006. What inspired your journey into fashion, and how did it evolve into building a full fashion-tech company like SewPro?
I wasn’t really inspired to get into fashion. It was actually necessity that pushed me into the industry. As a teenage boy heading to JSS1, my mum couldn’t afford my school fees then so I had to stay at home for about a year. It was at this point that she encouraged me to get a skill. Tailoring was the most available skill I could learn. It was only later that I fell in love with it
It was some of the challenges I faced that led to me thinking of a tool that could manage, structure and automate all the manual and non-sewing activities of the fashion business. Of course I had to do a lot of feasibility studies to find out if other tailors were facing the same troubles. I realized that nearly every tailor had no system for storing clients data securely, managing tasks and workflow and so on. This is what has led us to build SewPro.
As the Founder and CEO of SewPro, what specific digital solutions does your company provide to fashion designers and fashion businesses?
SewPro helps tailors and fashion businesses store and manage clients data securely, manage tasks from new orders to delivery, create and co-create designs with clients using AI, manage all financial transactions, connect with clients and sell their products or services across borders and many other things. We are just the digital companion for all fashion businesses and fashion needs.

You recently served as a special guest at the Men’s Fashion Week Benue. What key insights or trends did you observe about the future of men’s fashion in Nigeria?
It was a delight to be an invited as a special guest at the Men’s Fashion Week Benue, where I spoke on understanding the Business of the Craft. Formerly women were seen as more fashionable but that narrative is gradually changing as more men are becoming more interested in fashion. The men’s fashion industry in Nigeria has experienced a massive boom over the past decade with the introduction of trendy Nigerian jumpers and the revival of traditional fabrics (Aso Oke, Ankara, Adire) that are styled for both cooperate and casual events which is driven by a booming local market and Gen Z’s demand for ethical, expressive style. This trend continues to rise with the expansion of digital fashion ecosystems, driven by social media, e-commerce, and technology-based production. All these continues to amplify visibility and market access for local designers.
You have trained over 5,000 students on blockchain, crypto, and digital wealth tools. What gaps did you see in the Nigerian market that motivated you to start teaching these skills?
I got into learning blockchain and Crypto because I believed in the technology as the future of money and borderless payments. I also believe it’s a tool that equalizes opportunities. Anybody with the right knowledge can invest and transform their financial future. We have a vibrant youth population in Nigeria with 40-50% living in poverty and no hope of a better future. Blockchain and Cryptocurrency is that opportunity with minimal entry barrier that any Nigerian can use to participate in global economy and possibly make something decent out of their lives. Teaching this skill has helped me empower a lot of young Nigerians, which is something I’m passionate about.

With your online course “The 7 Day Money Breakthrough Challenge” published in 2025, what major financial mindset shift do you expect participants to gain within those seven days?
My biggest financial breakthrough came as a result of reading a book and making adjustments to my old money mindset and beliefs. Over the years I have had to coach and train several people and I realized that a person can be very skillful at his job but yet broke and until they experience certain mindset shifts, their results remain the same. It’s more like there is an invisible lid over their finances and until they break that lid, nothing changes. That was why I created this course, to show the step by step process of rewiring your mind for success and removing that invisible lid. The major mindset shift I expect participants to gain within these 7 days is that; you are the creator of your own experience and if you don’t like it, you have the power to change it!

How do you balance your roles as a fashion entrepreneur and a personal finance/wealth coach—two fields that seem very different but require intensive commitment?
For me I consider myself first an entrepreneur and as an entrepreneur, I have to go beyond making money, to actually understanding how wealth is created. How do I identify as an entrepreneur if I’m not involved in building actual businesses. So it is what I learn and practice that I teach. So when I’m not in the field building my business, you will find me teaching about wealth creation. So for me it’s not a thing that requires balance, it’s just me living my life.
You have written and published three books. Which of these books challenged you the most during writing, and why?
That would be “Dark Crypto Secrets”, because it was the first time I attempted writing about crypto and because it’s also a very controversial space. I had to spend a lot more time researching. I even had to co-author it with another expert in the field; Crypto Deni from Belgium. I wanted something that a total beginner can read and start making money immediately.

“Dark Crypto Secrets” is an intriguing title. What misconceptions about crypto were you hoping to address with that book?
First misconception, crypto is just purely based on hype and will soon disappear. Secondly, it’s a tool that empowers and enables fraud and fraudsters. Also I wanted to expose the dark operations of fraudsters, how they use fake tokens to rip people off their hard earned money. I also wanted to share how people can identify profitable crypto projects.
As a public speaker, what topic do you find resonates most with young Nigerians today—purpose, finance, or digital skills?
Definitely Finance. Nigerians want to make money. Life is not easy for the average Nigerian so he keeps looking for ways to make more money and stay afloat.
You’ve guided thousands of people in finance and purpose discovery. What personal life experience shaped your passion for empowering others?
The first experience I ever had that shaped my passion was a book I read in 2012 by the late Dr Myles Monroe; In Charge …. Finding the leader in you. It was from this book I discovered I had a passion to teach people and help them discover and maximize their purpose and potentials. Also having experienced lack and poverty, I had always wondered why we were poor and some other people rich though we were all passionate and gifted in my family. This led me into further research and study. It is because of this that I teach passionately about purpose and finance today. Don’t be a gifted but broke person!
Looking back at your journey from a young tailor to a tech-driven entrepreneur and finance educator, what would you say has been your biggest turning point?
My biggest turning point was learning how money works. Fundamentally, to make money you must create value in the form of a product or service and sell it to a large number of people who are hungry and willing to pay for it.
What is your long-term vision for SewPro and for your mission in financial education—where do you see both in the next 5 to 10 years?
My vision for SewPro is to become the leading fashion-tech solution in Africa. We want to put SewPro in the hands of every tailor and fashion business owner in Africa in the next 5years as their go to business companion any-day, anytime.
Within the next 10years I also want to travel around the world teaching wealth creation concepts in seminars, workshops and conferences. My mission is to empower 1Million Africans with the knowledge of wealth creation within the next 10 years.
