Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has fired two senior special assistants for wrongdoing.
One of them was involved in helping a well-known drug dealer get bail.
The news was announced on Saturday by Musa Tank Muhammad, Press Secretary to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). The decision came after separate investigations found both aides guilty.
The officials removed are: Abubakar Umar Sharada, Senior Special Assistant on Political MobilisationTasiu Adamu Al’amin Roba, Senior Special Assistant, Cabinet OfficeInvestigators said Sharada played a major role in helping drug dealer Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu get bail.
His own statements to the panel confirmed his involvement.
He has been ordered to return all government property and stop calling himself a government official.
Roba was removed for a different case. In 2024, he was arrested for rebagging government palliative grains in Sharada.
He is facing court charges for theft and criminal conspiracy.
He must also return government property and stop claiming to work for the government.The statement also said Hon. Musa Ado Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainages, was cleared of all allegations against him.
Governor Yusuf reminded all public officials that his administration has zero tolerance for corruption.
He warned the public not to deal with the two sacked aides on any government matter.
