The Federal Government has warned a popular car dealer in Abuja, Alamin Sarkinmota, for making fun of civil servants in a video promoting a luxury car.
In the video, Sarkinmota showed off a 2023 Mercedes-Benz C300 with Artificial Intelligence (AI). He asked the car, “Can civil servants afford you?” and the AI responded, “No! Maybe in 2062.”

The National Orientation Agency (NOA), in a letter signed by its Director-General, Lanre Issa-Onilu, said the video was disrespectful. They said it was wrong to look down on civil servants, especially during hard times when many Nigerians are struggling.
The NOA explained that civil servants are important to the country. They help the government run smoothly and support businesses like Sarkinmota’s. Mocking them sends the wrong message, especially when society already puts too much value on money and flashy things.
The agency advised the car dealer to be more careful with his words when advertising and not to insult any group of people.
Sarkinmota is known for making videos that joke about civil servants not being able to buy his expensive cars.
