Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar also called Akpabio corrupt and accused him of mistreating women.
Defending Akpabio, Murray-Bruce said Nigeria is lucky to have him as Senate President. He stated that Akpabio has been investigated many times but has always been cleared.
“Nigeria needs stability and strong leaders. We must protect institutions like the National Assembly from partisan attacks,” he wrote on X.
Murray-Bruce expressed his full support for Akpabio and warned against efforts to undermine the Senate for political reasons.
