The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed the arrest of crossdresser Bobrisky at the Seme border, a settlement located in Nigeria on the border with Benin, approximately thirty minutes from Badagry along the coastal road between Lagos and Cotonou.
In a statement released on Monday evening, the NIS revealed that the social media celebrity was attempting to “flee Nigeria” when she was apprehended. The statement further noted that the crossdresser is currently undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the “appropriate authorities for further action.”

“In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, otherwise known as Bobrisky, at the Seme border over an attempt to exit the country,” the statement read.
“The Service wishes to inform the public that Okuneye Idris is a person of interest regarding recent issues of public concern. He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action. The Service assures the public that it will continue to be civil and professional in its statutory responsibility of manning the country’s borders.”
Bobrisky is under investigation by a committee of the House of Representatives, alongside the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), concerning bribery allegations. This investigation was prompted by activist VeryDarkMan, who shared a purported audio recording in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have paid some EFCC officials N15 million to dismiss money laundering charges against her.
The self-proclaimed transgender subsequently described the viral recording as “fake” and threatened to sue VeryDarkMan for alleged defamation.
