“With a heavy heart, I announce the death of our beloved father, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata. May Allah forgive him and grant him paradise.”
The funeral prayer (Janazah) will take place at 2:00 PM at Umar Bin Khattab Mosque in Gyadi-Gyadi, Kano, according to Malam Ibrahim Khalil, chairman of the Kano Council of Islamic Scholars.
Alhaji Aminu Dantata was born into the famous Dantata family of Kano. His father, Alhassan Dantata, was one of the richest men in West Africa in the early 1900s.
Aminu Dantata continued his father’s legacy and became one of the most successful and generous men in Nigeria.
He built a large business empire that included companies in construction, manufacturing, banking, farming, and oil and gas.
He also worked in public and private offices and helped train many young leaders and businesspeople.
Despite his great wealth, Dantata was known for his humble lifestyle, strong faith, and love for helping others.
He gave money to build schools, mosques, hospitals, orphanages, and also helped widows and poor families, especially in northern Nigeria.
Many Nigerians business leaders, politicians, religious leaders, and ordinary people are mourning his death and remembering the good things he did.
Alhaji Dantata is survived by his children, grandchildren, and many others who will carry on his legacy of kindness and service.
