Max Air has announced the resumption of its domestic flight operations after a two-month suspension due to a tyre burst incident.
The airline, one of Nigeria’s leading domestic carriers, had been grounded following an incident at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, which raised safety concerns.
Aviation authorities had mandated a comprehensive safety review before the airline could resume operations.
During the suspension period, Max Air implemented several corrective measures, including a complete inspection of its fleet and enhanced safety protocols.
The airline stated that it worked closely with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to meet all regulatory requirements.
A spokesperson for Max Air assured the public that passenger safety remains the company’s top priority.
Passengers who had booked flights before the suspension were affected by cancellations, with many demanding compensation.
In response, Max Air has offered flexible rebooking options and partial refunds for affected customers.
The airline has also pledged to improve communication with passengers in the event of future operational disruptions.
Industry analysts believe that Max Air’s return to service will ease the pressure on Nigeria’s domestic flight sector, which has faced capacity constraints in recent months.
With increasing demand for air travel, particularly between major cities like Abuja, Lagos, and Kano, the resumption of flights is expected to bring much-needed relief to travelers.
Despite the positive developments, aviation experts have advised Max Air to maintain strict adherence to safety regulations.
The NCAA has emphasized that it will continue to monitor the airline closely to ensure full compliance.
As Max Air resumes operations, passengers remain hopeful that such incidents will not reoccur.
