In a joint announcement, the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria have called for a nationwide strike in response to the assault and kidnapping of their President, Joe Ajaero.
This strike is set to take place on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, as revealed during a press briefing held on Friday.

The labor unions are presenting the Federal Government with a six-point demand, which includes the immediate removal of the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, the Area Commander, and other implicated officials, all accused of involvement in the violent incident against Ajaero and fellow workers.
