The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has approved the cancellation of 485 land documents in Abuja after they failed official verification checks.
The revocation followed a screening exercise carried out by the Department of Land Administration in collaboration with the Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS), which found that several of the submissions were not authentic.

In a public notice tagged Batch I, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) said the affected applications—submitted mainly for the regularisation of Area Council land allocations—had been removed from its database.
According to the notice, the action targets documents that failed genuineness tests and were confirmed to be fake.
The affected titles span multiple councils and districts. In Bwari Area Council, impacted locations include Ushafa Village Expansion Scheme, Ushafa Extension and Dawaki Extension 1.
Within the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), affected districts include Kurudu-Jikwoyi Relocation, Kurudu Commercial, Karu Village Extension, Nyanya Phase IV Extension, Jikwoyi Residential, Sabon Lugbe and Lugbe I Extension.
Kuchiyako One layout in Kuje Area Council was also listed.
Among institutions affected are the Redeemed Christian Church of God and the Ministry of Justice Staff Multi-purpose Cooperative Society.
Under Nigerian law, land in the FCT is vested in the Federal Government, with Certificates of Occupancy processed through the minister’s office and formalised by AGIS.
Officials said the cancellations form part of ongoing reforms aimed at tackling forged documents, multiple allocations and irregular land grants, as the administration continues a large-scale regularisation exercise.
