US Currency To Bear Trump’s Signature

The United States government says new dollar bills will soon carry the signature of Donald Trump.

This will be the first time a sitting US president’s signature appears on paper money. The change is also linked to the country’s 250th anniversary.

In the past, US dollar bills only carried the signatures of the Treasurer and the Treasury Secretary. But the new bills will include Trump’s signature along with that of Scott Bessent.

Bessent said the move is to recognise the country’s achievements and Trump’s leadership.

The decision is part of efforts by Trump to leave his mark on US currency. Recently, a special gold coin with Trump’s image was also approved to mark the anniversary of the United States.

However, the plan has been criticised by opposition politicians. US law does not allow the image of a living president on currency, but Trump has continued to push for new designs, including one with his face on a one-dollar coin.

Despite the criticism, the changes are expected to go ahead.
