The UK government says it wants to reduce the number of people coming to the country by making immigration rules stricter.
One of the key plans is to make it easier to deport foreign criminals and to reduce the number of visas given to people with lower-skilled jobs.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said the goal is to cut 50,000 lower-skilled worker visas this year. She will present a new immigration plan (called the White Paper) to the UK Parliament on Monday.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer said previous governments lost control of immigration and promised that his government would fix the problem. He said he is introducing strong measures to bring immigration down.
Under the new rules, the government will be told about all foreign nationals convicted of crimes, not just those who receive long prison sentences. This will make it easier to send them back to their home countries.
Cooper said people who come to the UK must follow the law. She added that the system for deporting criminals has been too weak and needs to be improved.
The immigration plan also includes raising the requirements for skilled worker visas. Foreign workers will need to have a degree to get many jobs, and more training will be provided for UK residents to fill those roles instead.
There will also be stricter rules for people trying to come to the UK through family connections to prevent abuse of the system.
The UK government is facing pressure to control immigration, especially after many people have arrived in small boats from France. Last year, over 36,000 people crossed the Channel this way.
