President Bola Tinubu has appointed Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu as the new Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).
The announcement was made on Thursday by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga.

Professor Aliyu will replace Ahmed Galadima Aminu, who resigned to contest the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State.
Before this appointment, Aliyu was the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education. The presidency described him as an experienced academic and administrator who will help improve the oil and gas sector.
In a related development, President Tinubu also renewed the appointment of Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz as Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) for a second and final term.
Both appointments take effect immediately. The president urged the two officials to serve with honesty and dedication to support national development.
