Satan-Made Leaders Will Fail – Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that leaders chosen by Satan are doomed to fail, while those appointed by God are more likely to succeed.

He rejected the belief that all leaders are made by God, arguing that Satan also has the power to enthrone leaders, though without salvation.

Speaking during a virtual session titled “Boiling Point Arena” on Sunday, Obasanjo said, “Most leaders are prepared by God and put in place by Him, which increases their chances of success. But not all leaders are from God. Satan also makes leaders. Remember in the case of Job, Satan challenged God’s praise of Job’s righteousness. Satan is real, and while he has power, he offers no salvation.”

Obasanjo emphasized that fighting corruption in Nigeria must begin with leadership and requires consistent effort.

Describing corruption as deeply rooted in society, he said, “Corruption is like a babariga. When you fold one side, another part falls apart. It’s not a one-day or one-regime affair; it requires daily and continuous effort. If one regime relaxes, corruption spreads further.”

He also criticized those in government for worsening poverty in the country, calling for stronger accountability and leadership reforms.
