Police Flag Off 2026 National Police Day with Sanitation, Free Medical Outreach in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Monday began activities to mark the 2026 National Police Day with a sanitation exercise and free medical outreach in Area 1, Abuja.

The exercise, led by the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammad, took place on March 30 and targeted improved environmental cleanliness and access to basic healthcare, especially for vulnerable residents.

During the event, police officers and community members participated in cleaning the area, while medical personnel offered free health services to residents.

The initiative, according to the Command, reflects the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to community engagement, public health, and environmental sustainability.

Residents who benefited from the outreach commended the police for the effort, describing it as timely and impactful.

The Command said it remains dedicated to strengthening its relationship with the public through people-centered policing, noting that more activities would follow as part of the National Police Day celebration.

Police spokesperson in the FCT, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that the programme highlights the importance of partnership between the police and the communities they serve.
