Victor Osimhen is getting close to breaking Rashidi Yekini’s record as Nigeria’s highest goal scorer of all time.
Osimhen, who plays for Galatasaray, scored two goals in Nigeria’s 4–0 win against Mozambique in the Round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco on Monday night.

Before the match, the 27-year-old striker had scored 32 goals for Nigeria. After scoring twice in the game, his total is now 34 goals. This means he is just three goals behind Rashidi Yekini’s record of 37 goals.
