NIGERIANS AND THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY

We urgently call upon the conscience of the world to witness what is happening to our peaceful community at the hands of the Ebonyi State government.

Governor Francis Ogbonna Erishi Nwifuru is not merely misrepresenting our community he is systematically destroying it while fabricating lies to justify his actions.

His recent claims about discovering human remains are nothing more than a calculated media strategy designed to paint our peace-loving people as violent, to label us as “barbarians,” and to silence the truth about his brutal treatment of our community.

How can anyone identify a decaying body without proper evidence? This is propaganda at its most cynical.

But the governor’s deception runs even deeper. He has manipulated our most sacred institution our community elders, the revered custodians of our heritage and culture.

These honorable men and women, whose entire lives have been dedicated to peace and the preservation of our traditions, were deceived by government agents who promised reconciliation.

In good faith, our elders performed our sacred peace ceremony, sharing the yellowish-green palm fronds that symbolize the formal end of conflict and the beginning of friendship. The military stood before them and pledged peace.

It was all a lie

The moment the ceremony ended and the agents returned to the governor, the violence resumed with even greater intensity. House-to-house manhunts, arrests, shootings even our elderly are not spared. Our elders were used as pawns in a cruel game of deception.

The humanitarian crisis is now undeniable:

1. Our children cannot go to school

2. Our farmers cannot access their fields

3. Our people cannot reach the markets

4. Every healthcare facility public and private has been shut down

5. Community members with bullet wounds are dying in their homes

6. Our sick and elderly are perishing without medical care

Yet amidst this suffering, 28 quarry companies continue their operations uninterrupted. Why? Because they generate revenue for the state government. The very people who own these natural resources our community members have been forcibly displaced by military forces, while foreign companies extract our wealth.

This is not governance. This is exploitation masked as security. This is oppression disguised as law and order.

We are not asking for sympathy we are demanding justice. We call upon the Federal Government of Nigeria, international human rights organizations, and every person of conscience around the world: do not look away. Do not let our voices be silenced. Do not allow our community to be erased while the world watches.

The time to act is now, before it is too late. Our community’s survival depends on the world bearing witness to this injustice and demanding accountability.

Please, help us before we lose everything.
