Massive Earthquake Strikes Myanmar, Thousands Dead

At least 1,700 people have lost their lives due to a powerful earthquake that struck Myanmar, while more than 3,400 others have been injured in Mandalay, the country’s second-largest city.

The disaster has left thousands of families in distress, seeking shelter, food, and medical assistance.

Aid organizations have begun sending relief materials to help those affected.

Reports indicate that the earthquake was so intense that it caused the collapse of a high-rise building in Bangkok, Thailand, about 1,000 kilometers from the epicenter, trapping many people under the rubble.

This catastrophe is considered the worst to hit Myanmar since the political crisis that erupted following the military coup in 2021, which led to economic hardship and instability.

Myanmar authorities have called on the international community to urgently send aid, while rescue teams continue searching for survivors trapped in collapsed buildings.
