Kwankwaso set to join ADC on Monday

Former Kano State governor and NNPP leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is expected to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday.

Sources said this decision comes after weeks of meetings between Kwankwaso, his Kwankwasiyya group, and ADC leaders.

In recent weeks, he has met with top politicians and opposition leaders.

These include Rauf Aregbesola, Peter Obi, Seyi Makinde, and Seriake Dickson.

Sources say the move is part of efforts by opposition parties to work together ahead of the 2027 elections and challenge the ruling APC.

This development comes after a disagreement between Kwankwaso and Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Yusuf, who was once seen as Kwankwaso’s close ally, recently left the NNPP and joined the APC with some lawmakers and political appointees.

Kwankwaso opposed the move and described it as a betrayal.
