Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has declared a 24-hour curfew in response to the escalation of the nationwide protest within the state.
The announcement was made during a press conference at the Government House on Thursday.

“After careful consideration, we have determined that a 24-hour curfew is necessary to prevent further looting, vandalism, and the endangerment of innocent lives,” Governor Yusuf stated.
He also directed all security agencies in the state to ensure full compliance with the curfew to restore peace.
