China warned on Monday that more attacks in the Middle East could create an “uncontrollable situation” in the region.
This came after former US President Donald Trump threatened to destroy Iran’s power plants.

Trump gave Iran a 48-hour deadline on Saturday to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. This is a narrow waterway where about one-fifth of the world’s oil passes through.
If Iran did not, the US might attack its energy buildings.
A spokesman for China’s foreign ministry said using force would only cause more problems.
He said if the war spreads and the situation gets worse, the whole region could become uncontrollable.
China is a partner of Iran, which has been attacked by US and Israeli forces.
However, China also said it does not support Iran’s strikes against Gulf countries that have US military bases. China has called for a ceasefire.
Trump had planned to visit China this month but delayed his trip because of the war.
He asked China and other countries to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
China has not yet answered that request. But it has tried to help calm the situation by sending a special envoy to the Middle East to urge peace.
China’s foreign minister earlier said the war should never have happened and called for an end to the fighting.
